BCT's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Vision

Our EDI vision is of a diverse and equitable environmental sector in which BCT is an open and respectful organisation where all feel welcome to be themselves and contribute positively towards bat conservation.

We will embody our inclusion value by:

  • listening and learning
  • taking action to reduce barriers and increase opportunities
  • fostering a safe and fair community where diversity and biodiversity are valued

More on BCT's EDI work

BCT is committed to championing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion throughout all our work.

Our EDI working group meets 6 times a year and includes representatives from every level of the BCT.

Project NightWatch is working with under-represented groups to break the barriers that can make bat surveys difficult for some people. NightWatch is the perfect entry to the wonderful world of bats for people with disabilities and people of colour.

You can watch a talk given at our regional bat conference in March 2023 by our Education and Engagement Officer "Equity, diversity and inclusion - how can we do better?"

You can read our blog post "Supporting Neurodiverse Attendees at BCT’s Events – what more could we be doing?"
